The beginning of the “Taper” marks the end of a “Grand Experiment”, by the Federal Reserve-an initiative where Monetary Policy was used to do the bulk of crisis-fighting since 2008.  As the Fed and other major central banks move to either stop or pull back from this unprecedented provision on liquidity, financial markets will now have to make the journey back to functioning without this artificial prop.  This presentation addresses the liquidity and volatility implications of this policy move, and evaluates a few sectors of the financial markets that are likely to be significantly impacted in 2014.
