Lunch: Making Sense of Payments Innovations
Date: April 17, 2014
Location: The National Club, 303 Bay Street, Toronto
Time: 11:30 am Registration/ 12:00 pm Lunch and Presentation
Every time you receive a news alert on your e-mail, it seems that some new start-up has developed the next big innovation that will change the way consumers, businesses and large institutions transfer funds, pay people and suppliers, manage data, reduce costs and increase profit.
Canada is a recognized player in payments innovation. Within this environment, Interac is Canada’s leading payment brand, with the organization providing innovative physical and virtual debit products and services that allow financial institution consumers to securely access funds they have in their bank accounts. This unique national coast-to-coast payments system provides opportunities that few countries have in the consumer, commercial and treasury management arenas. More and more, financial professionals are being asked to make business decisions which are related to payments. Hence, this discussion will:
· Demystify the seemingly complex and rapidly changing landscape of payments – which of the global payment trends and innovations matter in the Canadian context?
· Present services currently and soon to be available
· Explain how payments can be used to grow enterprise value beyond just the actual transaction itself
· Provide the “killer list of questions” to ask when evaluating opportunities
