David Watt joined HSBC Bank Canada in May 2012 as Chief Economist. David brings nearly 20 years of experience in Canada’s financial sector to HSBC. In his role, David is responsible for HSBC Bank Canada’s economic forecasts with a focus on bringing HSBC’s strong global economic research to our Canadian clients. David brings his past experience as an economist, a currency strategist and as a fixed income strategist to his current position at HSBC. David started his career at the Bank of Canada, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and other Canadian financial institutions. David holds a Masters of Economics from Queen’s University, where he also undertook advanced graduate studies.
